The Diocese of Tucson, Arizona seeks a degreed person to work full time
as Chancellor for the diocese. Among the chancellor duties will be: administration of the Office of Chancellor, assist the Bishop on canonical matter, advise the Bishop on personnel issues, prepare and manage the budget for the Office of Chancellor, oversee the diocesan records (including personnel records of priests and religious), coordinate annual pastor reports from parishes, work with the diocesan Office of Child, Adolescent and Adult Protection, represent the Bishop as appropriate, work collaboratively with other diocesan offices, and serve as Mission Director for the diocese.
In addition to the chancellor
responsibilities, this person will also serve as Director of the
Tribunal and supervises a two-person tribunal staff on behalf of the
Judicial Vicar, who is also a pastor.
Applicant must be in good standing with the Roman Catholic Church. A licentiate or doctorate in canon law and/or Master's degree in Theology is preferred. Five years of management experience in the Church and ten years experience in Church leadership, as Pastor or other leadership role. Proficiency in Spanish is
preferred
.
