Chancellors and other senior diocesan staff are invited to attend the 2016 Mid-Atlantic Congress (MAC) Bishops’ Day. This day-long event starting at 12 Noon on Thursday, February 4, and ending at 12:45 p.m. on Friday, February 5, 2016, at the Hilton Baltimore, is a unique opportunity for bishops and select members of their diocesan senior staff to discuss key issues and concerns together in a confidential setting with professional facilitators seeding the discussion. Participation in Bishops’ Day is limited to teams of diocesan personnel who attend with their bishop.
This practical and solution-focused session is led by National Leadership Roundtable, a partner with MAC’s co-sponsors, the Association of Catholic Publishers and the Archdiocese of Baltimore. Topics for 2016 based on those proposed by the bishops themselves include:
- Organizing the Diocesan Center for Mission Success;
- Navigating the Political Waters of Diocesan Change;
- Empowering Parishes as the Mission Delivery Point; and,
- Communications for Mission Effectiveness.
Individual diocesan officials may also attend without other members of their diocese or their bishop and be trained on the same topics listed above since MAC has a track designed for diocesan administrators. These individual sessions are separate from the Bishop’s Day program.
The Mid-Atlantic Congress (MAC), an annual gathering of parish, school, and diocesan leaders, celebrates its 5th anniversary in 2016. With its focus on forming Catholic leaders for faith-filled services, this year’s theme reflects Pope Francis’ own words, Proclaim Jesus Christ with Joy. MAC takes place February 4-6, 2016 at the Baltimore Hilton where over 1,500 participants from 63 dioceses across the country are expected to attend.
Be inspired by our renowned keynote speakers: His Eminence Daniel Cardinal DiNardo, Archbishop of Galveston-Houston; Dr. Carolyn Woo, President, Catholic Relief Services; Dr. Mike and Dr. Cathy Carotta, speakers on faith, family, and catechesis; and Mr. Mark Hart, Executive Vice President, LifeTeen.
