SPRING CUA CANONICAL SEMINAR

MARCH 19-20, 2010

SUBSTANTIAL OR EQUIVALENT CONFORMITY OF SENTENCES (DC ART. 291):
CONFORMITY OF SENTENCES FOR THE NON-CONFORMIST:

WHAT IS EQUIVALENT
CONFORMITY AND HOW DO YOU DECLARE IT?

This year, at its traditional Spring Canonical Seminar, The School of Canon Law will offer presentations by the faculty on a matter of significant importance to Diocesan Tribunals of first and second instance: Substantial Conformity of Sentences. Presentations will be given by the Rev. John Beal, the Rev. John Foster, and the Rev. Sean Sheridan, TOR.

The Seminar will begin on Friday, March 19, at 1:30 and continue through Saturday, March 20, 12:30 p.m. and will be held at The Dupont Hotel, 1500 New Hampshire Avenue, N.W. Washington, DC 20036. A special rate has been obtained for participants in the seminar; see the enclosed brochure for further information and the registration form.

The Seminar provides a unique opportunity for on-going canonical education as well as the opportunity to interact with other practitioners of the law and the faculty of the School of Canon Law.

Prior to the Canonical Seminar, on March 18, 2010, in the Caldwell Hall Auditorium, at 4 P.M., His Excellency Roland Minnerath, Archbishop of Dijon, will offer the Sixth Annual Provost Lecture. His talk will address issues concerning the relationship between Church and State.

If you have any questions, please contact Fr. Robert Kaslyn, SJ or Ms. Grace-Ann Lewis at cua-canonlaw@cua.edu
