Father David Schuyler, SM died on November 19, 2012
at the age of 79 and 61 years of religious profession as a Marianist. He earned
his doctorate in canon law from the Pontifical Lateran University in 1964 and
joined the CLSA that same year.
He served on the faculty at Chaminade University in
Honolulu and eventually served as its dean. In 1989 he became judicial vicar
and co-vicar for religious in the Diocese of San Jose, California. In 2002 he
was appointed adjutant judicial vicar for the Diocese of Monterey, California. He
later became Marianist Area Coordinator for California.
A regular attendee at CLSA conventions, he was known
for his spirituality and his great capacity for making friends.
His funeral Mass will be at 10:30 AM on November 30, 2012 at St. Joseph of
Cupertino Church, Cupertino, CA.
