Reverend Edward G. Pfnausch passed away on January 11, 2013.

Fr. Pfnausch received his JCL from the Gregorian in 1973. He served as Defender of the Bond as well as a judge in the Tribunal of the Archdiocese of Hartford. In 1994, he earned his JCD at the Catholic University of America and joined the faculty of canon law shortly thereafter. More recently, he returned to parish life in Connecticut before retiring to El Paso, Texas.

Fr. Pfnausch was an active member of the Canon Law Society of America, serving as president in 1982 and contributing to various committee work. In 1986, he was appointed the first full-time Executive Coordinator and contributed to the growth and expansion of the Society as a whole.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Frances Xavier Cabrini Church in El Paso on Tuesday, January 15. Donations may be made in memoriam to the St. Frances Xavier Cabrini Building Fund, 12200 Vista del Sol, El Paso, Texas, to help build a permanent testimony to the faith of the El Paso community that so largely influenced Fr. Pfnausch's final years.

God rest his soul. I remember him well; the CLSA Office was in Caldwell Hall when I was at CUA so we saw a lot of him, and he was a good friend of my first canon law boss. He will be missed. Meg Romano-Hogan, JCL
