Member Appointed Bishop of Rochester

Bishop Salvatore R. Matano, bishop of Burlington, Vermont since 2005, was recently named bishop of the Diocese of Rochester, New York, by Pope Francis. He succeeds Bishop Matthew H. Clark, who retired in September 2012, as Bishop of Rochester.

Bishop Matano has been a member of the Canon Law Society of America since 1983. He earned both his licentiate and doctorate in canon law from the Gregorian University in Rome.
