Member Named Bishop of Gaylord, MI

Pope Francis has named Msgr. Steven J. Raica, a long-time member of the Canon Law Society, as fifth Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Gaylord in Michigan.

Bishop-elect Raica is a priest of the Diocese of Lansing, Michigan, and currently serves as chancellor of the diocese. He received both his licentiate and doctorate of canon law from the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome. In recent years, he has been an active participant in the annual conventions and was a member of the Committee on Church Governance from 2009-2011.

Bishop-elect Raica's consecration and installation is scheduled for Thursday, August 28, 2014 at St. Mary's Cathedral in Gaylord.
