Rev. David L. Nott

Rev. David L. Nott, a faithful priest of the Diocese of Richmond, died Easter Sunday, April 16, after a brief illness. He is survived by his mother and three brothers.

 

After graduating from the University of Oregon with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music, Father Nott spent several years as an apprentice organ builder in Germany. He was employed as a master organ builder from 1977 until he entered the seminary in 1986. He earned a Bachelor of Sacred Theology degree from the Gregorian University while a seminarian at the North American College in Rome, and was ordained to the priesthood by Bishop Walter F. Sullivan on June 26, 1993 at the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart in Richmond.

 

A member of the Canon Law Society of America since 2012, Father Nott served as pastor in Covington, Hot Springs, Appomattox, and Hurt, Va. He also ministered as a priest in Williamsburg, Richmond, Norfolk, Petersburg, Dinwiddie, and Ladysmith, Va.; and most recently served as Vice Chancellor of the Diocese and in the Tribunal of the Diocese of Richmond.
