Below is a list of current committee updates and requests.
7/14/14: Representatives from the Committee on Laity met in Minneapolis, MN. Planning and progress was made on a current project that focuses on marriage preparation issues, when one or both persons are from a non-dominant culture in the United States. The Committee on Laity reviewed existing diocesan and canonical literature and structured a preliminary format for this document on marriage preparation.
6/30/14-7/1/14: The Publications Advisory Board met in Washington, DC. Among items discussed were the electronic research database project, the webinar series, the 2014 Penal Law Workshop, and the generation of new publications. Due to the success of the Penal Law Workshop and the 2011 Special Faculties Workshop, PAB hopes to facilitate another intensive, educational workshop. Per discussion on CLSA inventory and pallet storage, PAB also elected to offer complimentary copies of two publications to various religious organizations in the United States.
6/24/14: The Resolutions Committee solicited resolutions in the June 2014 eNewsletter.
6/19/14: In accordance with the resolution passed at the 2013 CLSA Convention, the National Penal Tribunal Study Commission was established and met for the first time via conference call. The Commission plans to assist the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops by making suggestions about structure, as well as financial and human resources, for a regional and/or national tribunal.
5/21/14: Per a 2012 resolution, the Committee on Church Governance, with the assistance of Dr. Charles Zech, initiated the Survey of Diocesan Finance Councils. In May 2014, a copy of the survey was issued to all Bishops and Eparchs in the United States; the enclosed letter informed them of the impending survey, its purpose, and its methodology. The committee followed its outreach with a survey to all Diocesan Financial Officers in June.
4/2/14: A subcommittee of the Publications Advisory Board met in Lutz, FL, following the conclusion of the Penal Law Workshop. Committee members discussed follow-up publications and effective means of distribution.
2/28/14: The Resource and Asset Management Committee met electronically to review the FY 2014-2015 budget materials prepared by the Office of the Executive Coordinator. After discussion of financial reports and Society needs, the Committee made modifications and forwarded the Proposed Budget to the Board of Governors for approval. As in years past, the Committee determined that $21,000.00 should be made available for academic scholarships.
2/18/14: The Nominations Committee met in Washington, DC, to generate a list of possible candidates for the Board of Governors elections (scheduled for October 2014 at the annual convention). After making contact with these candidates, committee members forwarded the full slate of candidates to the Board in April.
10/11/2011: Committee Chairs met during the Incoming Committee Chair Breakfast Meeting during the convention in Jacksonville, Florida. Chairs discussed the Publications Protocol, briefly reviewed the Committee Handbook and explored new ways in which committees can met and utilize the Office of the Executive Coordinator. Committee Group Pages were updated with all past meeting minutes/agendas/documents and reports to the Board as a result of this meeting.
10/10-10/12: Several committees met during the 73rd Annual Convention; including the Committee on Laity, the Committee on Church Governance, the Publications Advisory Board and the Committee on Sacramental Law. 06/27-28/2011: The Publications Advisory Board met at in Washington, DC and discussed electronic publishing, reviewed the current inventory and brainstormed for new publication ideas (among other topics).

05/13/2011: The Committee on Sacramental Law would like input from arch/dioceses within the USCCB regarding their Sacramental Record Keeping Policies. Please take a moment to answer this short survey.
05/11/2011: The Committee on Sacramental Law has developed a Bookmark Reference Guide for when marriages of Catholics to Orthodox persons in Orthodox ceremonies are presumed to be valid. Please visit the Members Center to view/download this bookmark.
05/05/2011: The Committee on Research and Development has been re-constituted, Chorbishop John D. Faris is the new chair.
03/31/2011: Committee Chair reports due for the April Board of Governors Meeting.
03/30/2011: The General Convention Chairperson met with an OEC representative, a NIX representative and hotel staff at the Hyatt Regency Jacksonville to prepare for the 2011 convention.

03/01/2011: The Committee on Nominations met in Washington, DC for its annual meeting to create a slate of nominees for the 2011 election.
02/22/2011: The Committee on Resource and Management met via web-conference to discuss the proposed 2011-2012 Budget. This budget will be presented to the Board of Governors at its April meeting.
02/14/2011: The Publications Advisory Board met at the CLSA office to mainly discuss electronic publishing and the Resolution submitted by Fr. James Coriden [and passed by the membership] at the 2010 convention.
01/31/2011: The Committee on Clergy met prior to the Special Faculties Seminar in Tampa, Florida.
01/17/2011: Committee Chair reports due for the January Board of Governors Meeting [committees report to the Board three times a year, including the annual report presented to the membership at the annual convention].
01/06/2011: The Committee on Convention Planning met for their annual meeting, and began planning the program for the 2012 convention [theme: Parish, Parish Life and Leadership].
